Amblewood Guest House is situated in the bustling village of Hout Bay just 20 minutes drive from the beautiful city of Cape Town. It has spectacular views of the ocean, the bay, Hout Bay harbour, the beach and the famous Sentinel mountain.
Surrounded by mountains and with its profusion of mature trees and shrubs, Amblewood has a tranquil and rural feel to it. Hout Bay is centrally placed for all major tourist attractions and is the ideal base for exploring the peninsula, Cape Town city centre and beyond.
Rooms are en-suite with double or twin bed (all extra length), TV, tea trays, safes and private balconies/ patios or access to the pool deck. All rooms have stunning sea and mountain views.
A delicious full English breakfast is served in leisurely fashion on the pool deck. Tours, car rentals and restaurant bookings can be organised and we are happy to offer information, help and advice if desired.
Visitors can browse through the many upmarket stores in the village, explore the Sunday craft market, hike the many mountain trails available or simply relax near the pool with a good book from our well-stocked library.
Hout Bay boasts fine mountain walks with indigenous plants of over 1 100 species - making it one of the richest botanical areas in the world. Proteas are among the many Fynbos species one finds in abundance.Today Hout Bay is a thriving village with a variety of shops, restaurants and places of interest that will make any visit worthwhile. Other attractions include a beach, art galleries, Sunday craft markets on the village green, windsurfing, paddle skiing, surfing, horseriding, cycling, hiking, deep-sea fishing and scuba-diving. Speciality shops, curio shops, food markets and book shops offer a wide selection of goods.
