Hawksmoor House is a Cape Dutch country retreat located on a 220- hectare wine farm, Matjieskuil, near Stellenbosch. Meticulously restored and beautifully decorated with exquisite antiques, it occupies a stunning location amidst vineyards overlooking Table Mountain, and enjoys spectacular sunsets.
Conveniently located a 25 minute drive away from the buzzing Cape Town centre, the estate is quiet and serene. In addition to our guests, the farm is home to horses, cows, porcupines, hawks, herons, pelicans and countless other wildlife. Our resident German Pointers Cosmo & Max keep a watchful eye on the daily workings of the farm.
Hawksmoor House is the perfect place to unwind and let the day slowly go by, lie by the pool with a good book and a glass of our own fabulous Hawksmoor wine. It also serves as a great base to explore the Winelands. Our friendly and cheerful staff stay discreetly in the background, providing you with the feeling that you have the entire place to yourself and allowing you to relax in absolute peace and quiet.

House & Grounds
The main house contains four guest rooms, each with its own terrace; a grand dining room; a drawing room with fireplace, honesty bar & i-pod docking station; a small library of books and DVDs as well as internet access and a farmhouse kitchen with AGA stove & direct access to our herb garden.
The grounds are laid out to include a large lawn, reflecting pond, lavender beds; vegetable, rose and herb gardens, and a swimming pool with a view of Table Mountain. A fence around the entire property provides privacy and security.
Hawksmoor House offers a totally unspoilt, unpolished and authentic country home experience for those who need some well-deserved rest or would like to celebrate a special occasion.

Weddings
Since word has spread that Hawksmoor House has opened its doors, we have had an overwhelming number of requests to host weddings. As weddings need meticulous planning and will require our undivided attention to make the special day truly unforgettable, we have decided to limit the number of wedding celebrations at Hawksmoor House to one per month and the number of guests to 120.

We are only 25 minutes from Cape Town, surrounded by the rolling vineyards and dramatic mountain ranges of the Cape Winelands which occupy the area around Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl.
Stellenbosch, a leisurely 15 minute drive away and the nearest town to Hawksmoor House, is a place of great beauty and historical interest. Home to one of South Africas oldest and most renowned universities, Stellenbosch is the Cape Winelands´ most interesting and lively town with numerous superb restaurants, bars, shops and galleries.
