Scenarios and the process flows
The main idea with the website is to allow the user to search for availabe accommodation and book accommodation online in real time on the internet - quickly and efficiently, using the least number of steps to do so. We also allow the user to book accommodation using any of a number of different scenarios.
Scenario One
The user knows the name of the place offering the Accommodation or Service and simply selects the relevant name from the 'Service Provider' drop down list in the left hand navigation. The relevant property information page will open with options to 'Check Availability and Book Online' in real time or alternatively, to send an 'Email Enquiry'. When choosing to 'Book Online' it will take you through 3 EASY STEPS showing the relevant daily rates/price per person, unit or room at all times. In step 1 it will show how many units/rooms are available for the PERIOD OF YOUR ENQUIRY. You only need to SELECT how many units/rooms required before continuing. In step 2 you need to SELECT the number of visting guests. Step 3 will show your final QUOTATION, DEPOSIT REQUIREMENTS and the CANCELLATION POLICY before entering your personal details. There are normally TWO OPTIONS TO CONFIRM a BOOKING. 1. By a secure encrypted credit card number or 2. Confirm and apy the required DEPOSIT into a nominated bank account WITHIN 12 HOURS. Confirmation of a booking and receipt of payment will follow by email, fax or SMS.
The user knows the town(s) or region they wish to visit. Select the Town or Region drop down lists in the left hand navigations where you will be presented with a list of Towns (or Regions). An alphabetical list of Service Providers each with a 'thumbnail' picture will appear of all service providers in that town or region. The navigation links REGIONS and SOUTH AFRICA will 'show all' link service providers. Select any one of the service providers to open the relevant information page.
Scenario Two
The user has never visited South Africa and knows they will be in Cape Town for a few days. They can go directly from the home page to the AREA INFO link. The Area INFO link will play out a couple of scenarios in different Western Cape regions and give the user an overview of what they can expect. From the content of the Area Info, there will be links to Accommodation available within that region, or close to the places of interest. The user can then simply make a booking by selecting the relevant Accommodation. We are currently working on completing information on the rest of South Africa and later Namibia too.
Scenario Three
The user knows that they need to stay close to a certain landmark, i.e. the Airport. Using the Map link, they will be presented with various options, Regions, Towns, Suburbs, Places of Interest and Landmarks, with a map and sub sections for each heading. They can now simply select the Airport Icon from the Map and be presented with a list of Accommodation close to the Airport.
Scenario Four
The User needs a Conference Venue and Accommodation. Here they have a choice of selecting either Accommodation and then choosing the link 'Accommodation with Conference Facilities' or selecting the Conference Venues link and then the 'Conference Venues with Accommodation' link. Then simply make a booking or send an email enquiry.
