Accommodation
Your home from home has a large, comfortable living area with an attached open-plan kitchen. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms, accommodating six with ease. Bedding and towels are provided.

All the usual bits and pieces needed for an enjoyable self-catering holiday are supplied and TV is available. A lock-up garage within the security complex is provided.

Sit on the deck with a drink in your hand, admire the view and listen to the abundance of birds living in this nature reserve. If you are feeling too lazy to cook, there are restaurants nearby.

Activities in and near Jeffreys Bay
Jeffreys is known for its giant waves, known locally as super tubes. As a result, the Billabong Pro world class surfing event is held here during July every year.

If you are not into surfboarding, take a dip in the crystal clear ocean from the safe bathing beaches or just soak up the sun for an hour or two on the beach.

The nature lover will find more than enough to do by visiting Addo Elephant Park, Shamwari Game Park, and Lombardini Game Farm. Addo, for example, now incorporates five of South Africa’s seven biomes and is home to the densest African elephant population on earth. Elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, buffalo, rhino and wild dogs are some of the treasures to be found within the Shamwari Game Reserve. All of these destinations are within day-trip distance from your base in Houtbosch Bay, itself a nature reserve. A little further afield, the inimitable Garden Route beckons.

Exploring the mysterious Baviaanskloof Wilderness Area stretching from Hankey and Patensie through Smitskraal to Willowmore will be an outing with a difference when you need to be out of the sun for a day.

Getting there
Jeffreys Bay is about 75 kilometers from Port Elizabeth national airport with good road connections from there and from Cape Town. Details on how to find us will be supplied with our booking confirmation. However, for those who know Jeffreys Bay, the luxury Houtbosch Bay complex of log-homes is located in Aston, a few kilometers away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Jeffreys.
