Kensington Villa

Kensington Villa, built in 1904, is set in the secure diplomatic area of Oranjezicht, Cape Town - South Africa and located underneath the breath-taking Table Mountain close to the city center, the Waterfront, the beaches and within walking distance of many restaurants.

Kensington Villa, a self-catering guesthouse, with its original Oregon floors and doors has a very distinctive Victorian character. Its spacious living and dining room offers comfort and tranquillity. Enjoy the mountain views and privacy in the garden, spacious terraces and salt-water pool. 

At Kensington Villa, you have the choice of four comfortable rooms.

Among the rooms with separate entrances are the tastefully decorated Pool Cottage and the Mountain View Cottage with its own balcony and extra room. Our jewel is the luxurious Master Suite, with its en-suite Victorian bathroom, original fireplace and its own private sundeck. The African Room, with 2 single beds is ideal for guests on a budget.

1) When leaving the airport, follow the signs to Cape Town. After 1 km, you join the N2 (highway) to Cape Town.
2) +/- 10 km before Cape Town, you see 2 BIG hydraulic towers on your right.
3) 4,5 km after the 2 towers, there is a fork (separation) before the mountain. Follow the road to the right towards “Stad – City”.
4) Follow this road. After 1 km, there is another fork (separation). Follow the road on the left “M62 – De Waal”. Don’t take the road on the right “Eastern Boulevard – N2”
5) Follow this road along the mountain. After 2,6 km, you turn left ( sharp bend) just before the bridge.
6) Follow the road. Drive over the bridge. 1,5 km further ( distance from the sharp bend), you see tall high white columns on your left. This is the Mount Nelson Hotel.
7) 20 meters before those columns, turn left into “Hof Street”. Drive up the street towards the mountain. After 1 km (past the Medi Clinic), there is a sharp bend of 90° to the right. In this bend, you carry on straight and enter Rosmead Avenue.
8) After 20 meters into Rosmead Avenue, you turn right into Kensington Crescent. Kensington Villa is the 4th house on the left. It’s a yellow and white house.
