• Rapid access to Plettenberg Bay - George N2 (See map below). Being so centrally situated, Wilderness is an ideal place to base oneself in order to explore other places of interest on the garden route. Oudtshoorn, where the famous Cango Caves and numerous Ostrich Farms are located, is a mere 60 km away in the hinterland, on the other side of the magnificent Outeniqua Mountain Range through which one drives en route.
• Magnificent views of the Touw River below and its tidal lagoon that ebbs and flows under the N2 and Garden Route railway line. Dolphins Point, a lookout rest-area overlooking the Indian Ocean that fronts Wilderness and its beaches, is a mere five minutes away by car in the direction of George. Dolphins are frequent visitors and Whales can be seen from June to November.
