Most chalets accommodate two, and the family suites can comfortably accommodate five people. Each log chalet is luxurious and individually decorated, have private patios, air-conditioning, barbecues, and are serviced daily. Four of the chalets each have a Jacuzzi bath and fireplace, three chalets have private splash pools, and the executive chalet has a private Jacuzzi Spa for the ultimate in pampering.

Guests can look forward to a healthy breakfast which can, on request, be served in your chalet. For our guests’ convenience we offer an affordable on-site laundry service.

Sun loungers invite you to enjoy the welcoming coolness of the main swimming pool which is set in tranquil gardens where you can also enjoy a light lunch at the pool pavilion.

The Tonquani Spa offers an exclusive & intimate spa experience, ideal for couples & friends wanting to spend quality time together while being pampered.

01 Milkwood Chalet - One Bedroom Sleeps 2

Milkwood chalet is situated close to Reception and dining room, and has direct access to the beautiful gardens and pool area.
The deck is covered, and has comfortable patio furniture where you can relax with your first cup of coffee enjoying the interaction between the variety of birds that visit our gardens, or you can have a cosy barbecue on the Weber provided.
Entering the chalet you are immediately struck by the fantastic period furniture, with Persian carpet on wooden floors, comfortable chairs and a jet-master for the winter evenings where you can enjoy a cosy evening with a glass of regional wine. The chalet has DSTV (Hotel Bouquet), DVD, and a small music centre.
Off the lounge is the kitchenette which has a stocked bar fridge, and is equipped with some crockery, cutlery, a microwave oven, coffee machine, kettle and toaster.
From the kitchenette you step down into the bathroom area which has a lovely Victorian slipper bath, a TV above the bath, and a separate toilet and a separate spacious walk-in shower.
Access to the bedroom is from the lounge to the upper level via a carpeted staircase. The bedroom is fully carpeted with air-conditioning, has a queen size bed with only the best quality bedding, ensuring a good night’s sleep. His and Hers gowns and slippers are provided for your use whilst visiting us, and our ladies will do a basic daily clean to maximise your comfort and ensure an enjoyable stay.

10 African Hoopoe Chalet

Hoopoe Chalet is a short distance from the car park and diagonally across from the Tonquani Spa. The chalet has spectacular views of the surrounding gardens and other chalets which are all set on different levels, offering a magical sense of being in the clouds, yet in a forest of ferns, beautiful plants and a quaint village of log cabins.

Approaching the chalet, the pathway to chalet 09 & 10 is split by a large rock waterfall, the water playing with your senses and setting the mood of peace and relaxation.

Following the pathway to chalet 10, you enter a secluded and private fenced area camouflaged by plants and creepers, to a lovely garden on one side of the path, and the entrance to your own private and alluring pool on the other side of the path. Pool loungers and umbrella are set around the pool. A large outside patio table with chairs and Weber completes the setting on ground level.

On the open upper deck which has comfortable chairs to relax in, you can either enter the chalet via the sliding door to the main bedroom, or from the second sliding door to the lounge which is open-plan with the kitchen.

The spacious tiled lounge with beautiful rugs and Persian carpet, is partially furnished with antique furniture and comfortable couch. The LCD TV has DSTV (Hotel Bouquet) coverage, and the air-conditioning unit, jet-master, DVD player and music centre completes the extra comforts provided to ensure a memorable stay.

The tiled kitchen, which is separated from the lounge by a bar counter with bar stools, is equipped with a stocked mini-bar/fridge, microwave oven, coffee machine, toaster, kettle, crockery and cutlery.

To ensure your continual comfort, our ladies will do a daily basic clean of your chalet, leaving you free to enjoy your holiday.

From the kitchen you have access to the second bedroom which is fully carpeted, has a queen size bed, dressing table and a single bed. From the bedroom you can access the tiled en-suite bathroom which has a wash basin and toilet, a walk-in dressing room to the left, and a walk-in spacious shower to the right.

The fully carpeted main bedroom can be accessed either from the lounge or the deck. The bedroom is spacious with a queen size bed, antique dressing table and air-conditioning unit. Access to the tiled en-suite bathroom with its Victorian slipper bath, wash basin and toilet is through a sliding door. From the bathroom you have a walk-in dressing room.

All bed linen are of the best quality, and His and Hers gowns and slippers are provided to ensure a relaxed and comfortable stay.

Our staff will do their utmost to make your stay perfect. The room will be set up for a romantic aromatic bath, complimentary champagne, chocolates and flowers. On more than one occasion Tonquani has been the first stepping stone for couples, with their honeymoon stay becoming a regular anniversary celebration.

BREAKFAST

A scrumptious, healthy breakfast is served every morning as from 08h00 until 10h30 in the dining room at Tonquani Reception. On request, your breakfast can be enjoyed at the Pool Pavilion to take advantage of a beautiful morning amongst the plants and trees, or you can arrange the day before that your breakfast be taken to your chalet in a basket for you to enjoy on your deck or inside your chalet.
You can enjoy a choice of either continental breakfast or hot cooked breakfast which is included in your accommodation, or alternatively enjoy both for an additional R65-00 per person.

Light Lunches & Picnic Baskets:
Enjoy a light lunch either at the pool or at your chalet, or arrange a picnic basket with reception for a relaxing day at the beach.
Dinner:
There is always something exciting on offer for dinner. Check every morning with reception what the speciality of the evening would be.
Braai Packs:
A menu with a good selection of Barbecue Packs are available for guests to decide from, or they can request any combination of their choice. Snacks, salads, vegetables, rolls and deserts are available for your convenience. Please don’t hesitate to arrange with reception if you need someone to set up and do the barbecue for you. There will be a charge for this service.
