This cosy guest house is situated on a working ostrich and alfalfa farm, outside Oudtshoorn, with some 2000 ostriches on extensive alfalfa fields, with spectacular views of the Olifants River Valley and the Swartberg Mountain range. This charming Victorian homestead dating back to 1910, together with its tranquil surroundings, fine antique furniture, gleaming woodwork and spaciousness, is reminiscent of yesteryear. Located along the world famous R62 route, from Cape Town to Mossel Bay where it enters the Garden Route on the N2. Four hours from Cape Town, 10 minutes drive from Oudtshoorn, and only two hours from Knysna. De Denne is very central to all the tourist attractions in the area.

Your Hosts 

A warm welcome awaits you upon arrival at De Denne, Johan and Marelie will gladly assist in the planning of your itinerary. We would like to share our love for the land with our guests. We employ 5 local families on the farm as part of an ongoing effort to raise the standard of living and uplift the community.

Our accommodation consists of 3 warmly decorated luxury self-catering units, well equipped with modern amenities and a private entrance. Luxurious gardens a mountain view, air conditioning, bar fridge, TV, hairdryer, tea & coffee making facilities, microwave oven, hotplate and fireplace to become very romantic as well as your own braai facilities with braai equipment.. Activities on this farm include bird watching, mountain biking, and walks in absolute safety and harmony. Daily environmental and farm tours to watch ostrich chicks hatching are also available and are very popular.

1. Ostrich or beef fillet with vegetables
2. 1 lamb kebab and 1 lamb chop with vegetables
3. 2 marinated chicken thighs with vegetables
4. Vegetarian kebab with vegetables

All these served with 3 salads and freshly baked bread.
