Mountain Vista provides the weary traveller with the perfect location in which to unwind and take in the breathtaking views of Table Mountain and the Rietvlei Nature Reserve in Blouberg.

Mountainvista is a complex of three independant accommodation units consisting of:    
     
Flamingo House - A 5 bedroom, 2 bathroom house over 2 floors with extensive gardens
Aviary apartment - A 2 bedroom ground floor apartment with private garden
Birdsview apartment - A 2 bedroom 1st floor apartment with private deck area overlooking the Nature Reserve

All 3 units can be booked together to accommodate larger groups of up to 19 adults.

We are ideally situated backing directly onto Rietvlei Nature Reserve with breathtaking views of Table Mountain yet within minutes of the city centre, V&A waterfront, local beaches and the Wine Route.

Flamingo House - 6 Bedrooms, sleep 10 adults
(Provision can be made for 2-4 children or toddlers on mattresses with own bedding)

The ground floor comprises an entrance way leading into a TV lounge with a large TV and home entertainment system and direct access into the mature garden through sliding doors. The large open plan dining area and living room open directly onto the outside entertainment area and its built in, protected, BBQ area.

There is a fully equipped modern kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, rotisserie and gas stove. Downstairs is a guest toilet. The scullery and laundry area are serviced by a laundry chute from the first floor.

Bedroom 1 with double bed, balcony (which enjoys the sweeping views of the mountain) and en-suite bathroom. The bathroom is also accessible from the passage to be shared by the rest of the house if required.
Bedroom 2 with double bed.
Bedroom 3 with double bed.
Bedrooms 4 and 5 with twin or bunk beds.
All bedrooms have built in cupboards.
There is a second bathroom with shower and bath.
All the bedrooms and bathrooms are located on the first floor with staircase access.
Outside is a well stocked mature garden with natural flora and a very productive Lemon Tree (feel free to help yourself to the lemons) and rolling lawn leading directly into the Nature Reserve. There is a large Jungle Gym in the garden that children are free to use.*
     
*Children using the Jungle must be supervised at all times. Mountain Vista will accept no liability for any injuries sustained by guests using this or any other facility within the grounds of Mountainvista.

Bird's View Apartment - 2 Bedrooms, sleep 5 adults

The front door leads into a double volume spiral stone staircase. At the top of the stairs a bird's eye view opens up into the living area with DVD, CD, TV and home theatre system. The open plan kitchen has a breakfast bar and is fully equipped with 2-plate hob & Oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, toaster etc.

There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed (the view out of this window is breathtaking) and the other with three 3 single beds, both with built in cupboards.
There is a bathroom with large walk-in glass paneled shower.

Large sliding doors lead onto the private wooden deck area which has BBQ facilities and the most stunning views over the Nature Reserve and across to Table Mountain.

Enjoy a sundowner on the deck and watch the sunset over Table Mountain whilst the birds come home to roost.

Aviary Apartment - 2 Bedrooms, sleep 4 adults

The front door leads into the hallway opening up into the open plan kitchen with a breakfast bar, fully equipped with 2-plate hob & oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, toaster etc. There is a living area with DVD, CD, TV and home theatre system.

There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two single beds, both with built in cupboards. The bathroom has a large glass paneled walk-in shower.

The couch can convert into a double sleeper increasing the capacity of Aviary to 5 or 6 persons (one adult or 2 children) if needed for 1 or 2 nights.

Large sliding doors lead into the private garden with outdoor dining area and BBQ facilities.

There is a side gate that gives direct access to the gardens and Nature Reserve. Feed guinea fowl on the lawn and watch the majestic African Fish Eagles as they circle above you. Private off-road parking available.

Booking Terms

Rates are quoted per person per night in South African Rand and are inclusive of 14% Value Added Tax.
Rates are subject to confirmation and availability and may change without prior notice.
The owners and management of Mountain Vista cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to property or for any possessions of the guest occupying the unit/apartment.
Accepted Means of Payment: Cash, Bank Credit Transfers, Credit Cards
Reservations are subject to terms and conditions on check-in.

Deposit Conditions:
A minimum of 50% deposit is required to confirm booking.
The balance of payment is due on arrival or as stipulated per booking advice.
Proof of payment is to be faxed to +27 (0)86 634 2249 in order to confirm the reservation

Cancellation Policy:
We reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee if a booking is cancelled. Travellers are advised to arrange appropiate insurance to cover them in case of cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances.

Cancellations:

• 0 to 7 days before the date of arrival you will be liable for 100% of the accommodation total.
• 7 to 14 days before the date of arrival you will be liable for 50% of the accommodation total.
• 15+ days before the date of arrival you will be liable for 25% of the accommodation total.
• During Major Events & Peak Seasons - final payments due a minimum of 30 days before date of arrival.
  All deposits and payments received will be non-refundable.
  Peak Seasons are School Holidays; 16 December to 9 January and 6 days before and after Easter weekend.

Advanced payments will be fully refunded on re-booked units - subject to a minimum of R150.00 cancellation fee PLUS any other fees claimed by travel portals or agents in accordance with their published terms & conditions

Check In/Check Out Times:

Check in: from 14:00
Check out: before 10:00

In most cases we will allow early check-ins and late check-outs if the apartment is available. Please request if you require early check-in or late check out. A late check out without our permission will be subject to a penalty of R100.00 per hour.

Other terms:
The Guest will make good any damages or loss caused by himself or his party and this will be charged to the final account to be paid on departure.
