Western Cape

western cape map

The Western Cape Province on Africa's southwestern tip, is bordered on the north by the Northern Cape Province, on the east by the Eastern Cape Province, on the south by the Indian Ocean, and on the west by the Atlantic Ocean. The Breede and Berg Rivers are major rivers of the province. The capital is Cape Town and other major cities include Stellenbosch, Worcester, Paarl, and George. The Garden Route and the Overberg are popular coastal tourism areas.

Cape Town with it's buzzling night-life and rich cultural history is arguably one of the most beautiful places on earth and the best place to start an African journey. Deservedly South Africa's most popular tourist destination where the Two Oceans meet and boasting with landmarks like Cape Point and Table Mountain. Where else in the world can you experience so many attractions within easy reach - vast winelands, nature reserves, scenic drives, hiking trails, magnificent beaches, lush green coastal forests, world-class restaurants and cosmopolitan entertainment?

The Cape is one of the six '
Floral Kingdoms' of the world and home of the fynbos - 6000 endemic to specific areas, considered to be the richest botanical area on earth.

Don't forget whale-whatching in the
Overberg, ostrich farming in the Klein Karoo, the Garden Route's lakes and forests or the penguins at Boulders Beach.
The southern coastline is an important breeding ground for the Southern Right Whale providing some of the best whale watching in the world.

Adventure lovers will be thrilled by the highest bungee jump in the world at Bloukrans Bridge, shark cage diving in Gansbaai or white water canoeing on the Breede River while some of the best golf courses in the world will excite golf lovers.

The northern provinces of South Africa are traditionally big game country but few people are aware that the big five (lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, rhino) roamed the valleys and mountains of the Cape until they were hunted to extinction by early settlers. Nature reserves and national parks in the Cape are home to the Bontebok, Cape Mountain Zebra, Baboon and Cape Fox to mention only a few of the many wildlife species to be found. In fact there are moves to bring them back to the Western Cape, when that happens we will in fact be able to offer the big six, with the inclusion of the Southern Right Whale.

Whether for business or leisure,
Cape Town and the Western Cape will exceed your expectations. The film, advertising and fashion industries are extremely successful.
The Western Cape enjoys hot summers and cool rainy winters perfect weather for the production of fruit, grains and, most important  wine.
